TUESDAY, MAY 20, 2003 - Penang Review

Penang, Boston - Across from the super cheap parking lot in Chinatown, you'll find Penang, a bustling Malaysian restaurant, which will make you the envy of those you pass in the theater, and the scorge of those you sit next to.

I wish I can remember what I had.

SUNDAY, MAY 10, 2003 - The Old Man

People have asked me what I think of the Old Man on the Mountain collapsing. Since I didn't grow up in New Hampshire, I'm not emotionally tied. But, it seems silly to rebuild a random occurance in nature. The Mother -- she giveth and she taketh away.

I'll be climbing the face left of the Old Man next Sunday. The last time I did that I was emotionally drained for two weeks.

Keri has a photo of it here. If you squint really, really hard, you can bearly make out the head.

SATURDAY, MAY 10, 2003 - Jihad to be there

Improv Asylum in the North End is piss your pants funny. A bucket of any beer - 4 bottles on ice - will run you 16 clams.

Tickets are $20, but modestly cheaper if picked up at the Bostix kiosk in Faneuil Hall.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 7, 2003 - Company Man

Confucious would find the amount of time I spend working virtuous. That's a pile of horseshit.

SATURDAY, MAY 3, 2003 - A last hurrah

This is a parting shot before Beylan moved to Seattle. She's one of three climbers in this picture moving out West this year.

Me, this is the farthest west I'm moving. Maybe someday I'll get the balls to move farther east. For the time being, I'm here.
